Original Article

Cover Letter A covering letter signed by the corresponding author on behalf of all authors must be submitted. The cover letter must state author approval and substantial contributions, confirm the manuscript with related data, figures, and tables is unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere, disclose financial conflicts of interest, explain any joint or equal first authorship request, disclose any use of artificial intelligence tools, and provide the names and contact details of three potential reviewers.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background and Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Original Articles must not exceed 7,500 words plus references. Original Articles must be organized as Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, References, Figure Legends, Tables, and Figures. The manuscript must include an Authors' contributions section, a separate Funding section, a separate Conflict of Interest Statement, up to three keywords after the abstract, alt text under each figure legend, and disclosure of any artificial intelligence tool use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References References must be cited by superscript Arabic numerals in citation order and the reference list must present abbreviated journal titles, all authors' names, article titles, and inclusive page numbers.
Figures & Tables The number of figures and tables must be in balance with the length of the manuscript. For submission, figures may be uploaded either embedded in the manuscript file or separately, and the graphical abstract must be submitted as a separate file. Alt text must be included under each figure legend in the manuscript, and the graphical abstract must be clearly named and in landscape format.

Review Article

Abstract An abstract is required for Review Articles. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background and Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Review Articles must not exceed 7,500 words plus references. Review Articles must be organized in the following sections: Title Page, Abstract, Main text, Acknowledgement, References, Figure Legends, Tables, Figures. The manuscript must include a separate 'Authors' contributions' heading listing each author's contribution, a separate Funding section before Acknowledgements, a separate Conflict of Interest Statement paragraph, disclosure of any AI tool use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section, and a maximum of three keywords immediately after the abstract.
References References must be cited by Arabic numerals in superscript and numbered in the order cited, with all authors' names, article titles, inclusive pages, and Index Medicus journal abbreviations used in the reference list.
Figures & Tables Review Articles must include at least 2 figures and 2 tables. For submission, figures may be uploaded either embedded in the manuscript file or separately, and the graphical abstract must be submitted as a separate file. Alt text must be included under each figure legend in the main manuscript file, and the graphical abstract must be clearly named and provided in landscape format.
