Original Manuscripts

Cover Letter Cover letter must describe any use of AI tools and, when applicable, identify if the study idea originated with someone other than the senior or corresponding authors and provide details of any author financial incentives or honoraria.
Abstract Original Manuscripts should include an abstract. Abstract must be unstructured and no more than 275 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Manuscript must be no more than 5,000 words including references. Manuscript must contain Abstract, Introduction, Patients and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, and References. Title page must include 5-7 keywords and an alphabetical list of abbreviations, AI use must be disclosed in the Materials and Methods or similar section, Acknowledgments must separately note preliminary data presentations or state “Presentation: none,” and registered clinical trials must include the trial registration number on the title page while experimental animal studies must include the institutional protocol number at the end of the abstract.
References Original Manuscripts must have no more than 50 references. References must conform to AMA Manual of Style guidelines. References must be cited as consecutive superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, list all authors if there are 6 or fewer or the first 3 followed by “et al.” if there are more than 6, and give author surnames with initials without periods.
Figures & Tables Original Manuscripts must contain no more than 8 figures and tables in total, and each figure may include a maximum of 6 panels. Tables and figures must not be embedded in the manuscript file and must be uploaded separately, with each table and each figure provided as an individual file. Tables must be text-only and not submitted as photographs, and all figure legends must be provided separately at the end of the manuscript with abbreviations and symbols defined in the legend.
