Original Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must include the manuscript type and title, a brief summary of the purpose, significance, key findings, and relevance to the journal with implications for practice, confirmation of originality and exclusive submission, any preprint disclosure, any funding sources or conflicts of interest, a statement of authorship, ethical adherence, the corresponding author's name, title, and email address, and a rationale if more than 50 references are included.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words, excluding key words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background, Objective, Interventions/Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Implications for Oncology Nursing Practice.
Manuscript Original Research manuscript bodies must be no more than 15 pages and should be approximately 4,000 words. The manuscript body must include a clearly labeled Implications for Practice section and end with a clearly labeled Conclusions section immediately before the references. Provide up to 10 key words using CINAHL or MeSH terms, include 2 to 3 highlight bullet points, and disclose any use of generative AI in the Materials and Methods or similar section.
References The reference list should contain no more than approximately 50 citations. References must follow AMA style. References must be cited in order of appearance using superscript numbers, listed at the end of the manuscript in the same order, use author surnames followed by initials without periods, and for works with more than 6 authors list the first 3 followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables combined must not exceed 5 items. Tables and figures must not be embedded in the manuscript and must be uploaded separately, with each figure as a separate file and all tables together in a separate Word file. Figures and tables must be self-explanatory, cited consecutively in the text, and not duplicate information already presented in the manuscript text.
