Original Articles

Cover Letter Any prior publication or distribution of the manuscript must be disclosed to the Editor when submitting the manuscript.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be 250 words.
Manuscript The body of the manuscript must not exceed 3000 words. A Declaration of Conflicting Interests statement must appear at the end of the manuscript after acknowledgements and before the references, and all authors must acknowledge funding under a separate heading.
References Biomedical journal format. References must use Arabic numerals in square brackets or superscript for citations, and the reference listing must have all links removed.
Figures & Tables All graphics, figures, and illustrations must be embedded in the manuscript. Figures and illustrations must contain clean and clear graphics, figures or tables requiring permission must include complete permission information in the caption, and tables must be created in Word format within the manuscript.

Figures & Tables Graphics, figures, and illustrations must be embedded in the manuscript, and tables must be created in Word format within the manuscript. Review Articles must include a completed PRISMA flow chart as a cited figure if the review is a systematic review or meta-analysis.

Letters To The Editor

Abstract An abstract must not be included.
Manuscript Letters To The Editor must not exceed 500 words. A title page meeting JDST specifications must be included.
References Letters To The Editor are limited to six references. Biomedical journal format. If the letter comments on a previously published article or another letter, the title of the item under discussion must be included as the first citation.
Figures & Tables Letters To The Editor may include either one table or one figure, but not both. All graphics, figures, and illustrations must be embedded in the manuscript. Figures and illustrations must contain clean and clear graphics.
