Abstract
An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract headings must be Background; Objectives; Design; Methods; Results; Conclusion; and Registration if applicable.
Manuscript
Manuscript should be up to 6000 words excluding tables, figure legends, and references. Manuscript must state in the Methods section which reporting guidelines were consulted when preparing it. Manuscript must include at least 2 keywords after the abstract, may include an optional plain language summary under the abstract, and must include a 'Statements and Declarations' section at the end with all required subheadings including 'Not applicable' where relevant.
References
There is no limit on references. References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in corresponding citations.
Figures & Tables
There is no limit on figures and tables. Figures and images must be uploaded. Figures must be numbered consecutively in text order and supplied with image descriptions.

Manuscript must include the abstract between the title and main body, at least 2 keywords after the abstract, and a 'Statements and Declarations' section at the end, with Acknowledgements and Author Contributions included if applicable. A plain language summary may be included optionally, and the manuscript must include at least 2 keywords plus the required declarations under the 'Statements and Declarations' section.
