Original Research

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required and must be structured. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured with the headings Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion. Abstract headings must be Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript must be up to 3500 words, with up to 4000 words allowed for systematic reviews, mixed-methods studies and qualitative studies. Manuscript must follow IMRaD style with Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. Manuscript must include key messages after the abstract under the headings What is already known on this topic, What this study adds, and How this study might affect research, practice or policy, in 3–5 sentences and distinct from the abstract.
References Manuscript may include up to 40 references, although more references are accepted for systematic reviews submitted as Original Research. References must use Vancouver style. References must be cited in the main text in numerical order and list the first three authors by last name and initials followed by et al if applicable.
Figures & Tables Manuscript may include up to 5 tables or illustrations. Tables should be placed in the main text where first cited, while figures must be uploaded as separate files. Figure legends must be provided at the end of the manuscript and tables longer than 2 pages will be published as online-only supplementary material.
