Journal of Ginseng Research is the official open access journal of the Korean Society of Ginseng and publishes peer-reviewed research on ginseng science, including basic, pre-clinical, and clinical studies. It is a bimonthly journal covering plant sciences, biology, chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacokinetics, veterinary medicine, biochemistry, manufacture, clinical study, and integrative research related to ginseng.

Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Manuscript is limited to 5,000 words including manuscript text, title page, abstract, and figure legends. Manuscript should be organized as title page, abstract and keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions if any, acknowledgments, references, and tables and figures, with results and discussion allowed to be combined. A graphical abstract is mandatory, and any use of generative AI in manuscript preparation must be declared in a new section placed before the references list.
References References are limited to 60. References must be cited in non-superscript Arabic numerals in squared brackets in the order of appearance, with up to 10 authors listed in full and more than 10 authors listed as the first 10 followed by et al.
Figures & Tables A maximum of 6 figures, including tables, is allowed. Tables, figures, and images must be prepared as separate files, and figures must not be embedded in the manuscript text. Each table must be on a separate page and each figure must have a caption.

Mini-Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Mini-Review Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be one paragraph and must not exceed 200 words. Abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph.
Manuscript Mini-Review Articles are limited to 6,500 words from introduction to conclusion and 8 printed pages. Mini-Review Articles have no standard format. A graphical abstract is mandatory, and any use of generative AI must be declared in a new section before the references list.
References Mini-Review Articles are limited to 100 references. References must be cited in non-superscript Arabic numerals in square brackets in the order of appearance, with up to 10 authors listed in full and more than 10 authors shortened to the first 10 followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Mini-Review Articles are limited to 10 figures and 10 tables. The main text, tables, figures, and images must be prepared in separate files, and figures must not be embedded in the manuscript text. Tables should follow the regular Research Articles guidelines, and each figure must have a caption.
