Journal of Human Kinetics

Journal of Human Kinetics is an open access interdisciplinary journal covering human movement studies, including kinesiology, exercise physiology and sports medicine, sports and physical activity, and psychological and sociological aspects of sport and exercise, with particular attention to elite and competitive sport. It uses a double-blind peer review process and publishes research papers, reviews, case studies, short communications, letters to the editors, and editorials. Regular issues are published in January, April, July, and October, and the journal also accepts proposals for special issues or specific topics.

Research Papers

Cover Letter Authors must submit statements on originality, copyright integrity, conflict of interest, and permission to publish. Cover materials must include statements confirming originality, confirming the integrity of others’ copyrights, disclosing any conflict of interest, and granting permission to publish.
Abstract Research Papers must include an abstract.
Manuscript Research Papers must not exceed 16 pages including tables, figures, and references, calculated at 1800 characters per page. Research Papers must follow the structure Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions with Practical Implications. Authors must disclose any use of AI-assisted technologies, with writing assistance noted in the acknowledgments and data collection, analysis, or figure generation described in the methods.
References References must be limited to 40 entries. References must be prepared in APA 7th Edition style. All listed references must be cited in the manuscript, published abstracts must not be used as references, and in-text citations must be presented in alphabetical order with semicolons separating multiple citations in parentheses.
Figures & Tables A manuscript may contain up to 6 tables and/or figures in total. Tables and figures must be submitted as separate files, and the main text must indicate approximately where each should appear. Tables and figures must be cited first in the main text in numerical order and numbered consecutively.

Reviews
