Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter requesting review for publication is required. The cover letter must state that the manuscript is not published or under consideration elsewhere and include consent from all authors.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be limited to 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the subheadings Background (optional), Objective(s), Methods (or Material and Methods or Patients and Methods, as appropriate), Results, and Conclusion(s).
Manuscript Body text must not exceed 3500 words, excluding the abstract, figure legends, and references. Main text must follow ICMJE Uniform Requirements with sections and subsections. The manuscript must include 3 to 8 keywords after the abstract, a key message of no more than 240 characters, and a summary box answering what is known about the topic and how the study impacts current understanding and/or clinical management, with each answer no more than 40 words.
References References should be limited to approximately 50. References must conform to ICMJE Uniform Requirements style. References must be numbered consecutively throughout the text, cited in square brackets before punctuation, list all authors when there are 6 or fewer, and list the first 6 authors followed by et al when there are 7 or more.
Figures & Tables Each figure must be provided in a separate document, each table must be typed on a separate page after the references, and figure legends must appear on a separate page after the references. Figures must illustrate important results and be cited in the text.

Review Article

Abstract An abstract is required for Review Articles. The abstract must be limited to 250 words.
Manuscript Body text must not exceed 5000 words excluding abstract, figure legends, and references, although Review Articles may exceptionally be accepted up to 7500 words. Include 3 to 8 keywords after the abstract and provide a key message of no more than 240 characters at submission.
References References must follow ICMJE Uniform Requirements style. References must be numbered consecutively in the text, use square-bracket citations before punctuation, list all authors if there are 6 or fewer, and list the first 6 followed by et al. if there are 7 or more.
Figures & Tables Each figure must be uploaded as a separate document, each table must appear on a separate page after the references, and figure legends must be placed on a separate page after the references. Figures must be cited in the text and color figures must remain intelligible in black and white.
