Abstract Investigations must include an abstract. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Structured abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Practical Implications, and Key Words.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3,000 words, excluding the title page, acknowledgments, references, and illustrations. Manuscript should include the sections Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Figure Legends, References, Figures, Tables, and Supplemental Materials. Abstract must include Practical Implications and Key Words, and any use of AI in the writing process must be disclosed in a section titled "Declaration of AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process" that names the tool or service and the reason for its use.
References References must follow the 11th edition of the AMA Manual of Style. References must be cited in the text as consecutive superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, numbered only once with repeated citations using the original number, and journal names should be abbreviated according to the List of Title Word Abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Investigations may include up to 8 figures and tables combined. Figures must be uploaded separately and must not be embedded in the document, while tables may be grouped and uploaded in one file. Figures must be at least 300 dpi and submitted in JPEG, TIFF, or Microsoft PowerPoint format.
