Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. If chatbot or similar LLM tools were used in developing the paper, this use must be noted in the cover letter.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be no longer than 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract headings must be Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3000 words excluding the abstract and references. Manuscript must include a title page, abstract, text, acknowledgments, references, tables, and figure legends. Manuscript must include a 40-word summary of the main points, 5 key words, a conflict of interest statement, and documentation of any chatbot or similar LLM tool use in the Methods, Acknowledgments, or another appropriate section.
References References must not exceed 40. Manuscript must adhere to AMA Manual of Style. References must be numbered consecutively in superscript Arabic numerals as they appear in the text, and for works with more than 6 authors, the first 3 authors should be listed followed by et al.
Figures & Tables No more than 4 total graphics may be included in the main body of the article. Figures must be uploaded separately, while tables must be placed on separate pages in the manuscript. Figure legends must be submitted on a separate page of the manuscript and each image must have alt text included directly under the relevant figure legend.
