Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, Part B: Critical Reviews publishes in-depth critical reviews, both commissioned and unsolicited, in environmental sciences, public and occupational health, and toxicology. Its focus includes target organ toxicities, nanotechnology and nanotoxicology, risk assessment and modeling, carcinogenesis and mutagenesis, ecotoxicology and aquatic toxicology, and environmental factors affecting public and occupational health. Manuscripts undergo initial editorial appraisal followed by single-anonymized peer review by independent expert referees.

Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract should be 200 words. The abstract should be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript should be ordered as title page, abstract, keywords, main text with introduction, materials and methods, results, and discussion, followed by acknowledgments, declaration of interest statement, references, appendices as appropriate, tables with captions on individual pages, figures, and figure captions as a list. The manuscript must include keywords, a word count, and a declaration of interest statement, and any use of generative AI must be acknowledged in the Methods or Acknowledgments section with the tool name, version, how it was used, and the reason for use.
References References may be in any consistent scholarly citation style or format. References must include author name(s), journal or book title, article or chapter title, year of publication, volume and issue where appropriate, and page numbers, all entries must have corresponding in-text citations, and review references must be relevant and provide a fair and balanced overview without bias toward a particular research group, organization, or journal.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables may be placed within the text or submitted as separate documents, and reviews should place tables with captions on individual pages followed by figures and a separate list of figure captions. Tables must be editable and should present new information and be interpretable without reference to the text.
