Knee Surgery & Related Research is the official journal of the Korean Knee Society and covers all aspects of knee surgery relating to knee joint diseases, trauma and treatment, as well as basic research with clinical relevance. It publishes research papers and reviews and aims to provide emerging trends and new approaches to knee surgeons, imaging specialists, rehabilitation personnel, basic researchers, biomechanical engineers, materials scientists, and others interested in knee surgery.

Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must explain why the manuscript should be published in Knee Surgery & Related Research, explain any issues relating to journal policies, declare any potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved the submission, confirm the content has not been published or submitted elsewhere, and name the special issue if applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions, and for applicable human intervention studies it must also include a Trial registration section with registration number and date and the words 'retrospectively registered' if relevant.
Manuscript Manuscript must be anonymized for double-blind review and include a title page plus the sections Background, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Declarations, and if abbreviations are used a list of abbreviations. Manuscript must include three to ten keywords, a Declarations section with all required subheadings using 'Not applicable' where relevant, an Availability of data and materials statement, a competing interests statement, funding, authors' contributions, acknowledgements, and documentation of any Large Language Model use in the Methods section or another suitable section.
References References may include only published, in-press, or publicly available e-print or preprint sources, unpublished abstracts/data/personal communications must be excluded from the reference list, journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, web links must appear as numbered references with full URL, site title, and access date, and publicly available datasets should be cited with minimum DataCite information in journal style.
Figures & Tables Figure titles and legends must be provided in the main manuscript while figures are uploaded separately, tables shorter than one page may be placed within the manuscript, and larger tables may be placed at the end with their intended placement indicated in the text. Figures must be numbered in text order and multipart figures submitted as single composite files, while tables must be numbered in sequence and created as table objects rather than embedded as figures or spreadsheet files.

References Journal abbreviations in references must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE. Only published or publicly available articles, clinical trial registration records, and abstracts may be cited, unpublished abstracts/data/personal communications must be excluded from the reference list, and web links or URLs must be cited by reference number in the reference list.
