Obesity Surgery

Obesity Surgery is an interdisciplinary and international journal focused on bariatric and metabolic surgery and allied care. It publishes research and clinical knowledge on the surgical treatment and care of patients with severe obesity, including original research, clinical reports, guidelines, historical notes, invited commentaries, letters to the editor, medicolegal issues, meeting abstracts, technical innovations, new concepts, reviews, scholarly presentations, and opinions. It is an official journal of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders and of the British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society.

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A structured textual abstract is required for Research manuscripts. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured with subheadings.
Manuscript Research manuscripts should be limited to 8 double-spaced pages or 2400 words, excluding the title page, references, figures, legends, and tables. Manuscript must include Introduction or Purpose, Materials, Methods, Results, and Conclusion sections. Manuscript must include 3 to 4 one-line bulleted key points and blinded conflict of interest, ethics, and consent statements.
References References must be formatted in PubMed style. References must be listed in consecutive numerical order as they appear in the text, with in-text citations shown as numbers in square brackets.
Figures & Tables Research manuscripts may include up to 6 figures. Figure legends must be included at the end of the manuscript text. Figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals and cited in consecutive numerical order in the text.
