Research Article
Cover Letter
Cover letter is required. Cover letter must explain why the manuscript should be published in BMC Infectious Diseases, address any issues relating to journal policies, declare any potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved submission, and confirm the content has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
Abstract
Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Trial registration.
Manuscript
Manuscript must include a Declarations section with all required subheadings, and the title should include the study design if appropriate. Manuscript must provide three to ten keywords, include a list of abbreviations if abbreviations are used, and document any use of a Large Language Model in the Methods section or another suitable section.
References
References must follow Vancouver reference style. Only published or in-press articles, clinical trial registration records, abstracts, and public preprints may be cited, unpublished abstracts or data and personal communications must be excluded from the reference list, and all URLs must be numbered and included in the reference list in full.
Figures & Tables
Figure titles and legends must be provided in the main manuscript, tables shorter than one page may be placed within the manuscript while larger tables may be placed at the end, and uncropped full-length gels and blots must be included as a single supplementary figure when cropped versions appear in the main text. Cropped gels and blots in the main text must show evident cropping and be identified in the figure legend, and figure legends must state that full-length blots or gels are presented in the supplementary figure.

Manuscript must include three to ten keywords, provide a list of abbreviations if abbreviations are used, define abbreviations at first use, and document any use of a Large Language Model in the Methods section or another suitable section if no Methods section is available.
References
References must follow Vancouver style. Only published or in-press articles, clinical trial registration records, abstracts, and publicly available preprints may be cited, unpublished abstracts/data and personal communications must not appear in the reference list, journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, and URLs must be numbered and included in the reference list in full with site title, URL, and access date.
Figures & Tables

Figures must be numbered in order of first mention and multipart figures submitted as a single composite file, while tables must be numbered and cited in sequence using Arabic numerals.

Abstract

Manuscript
The manuscript should describe a meta-analysis, systematic review, scoping review, or umbrella review that synthesizes published research. The manuscript must include 3 to 10 keywords, a Declarations section with the required subheadings, and any use of a Large Language Model must be documented in the Methods section or a suitable alternative part if no Methods section is available.
References
References must follow Vancouver style. Only articles, clinical trial registration records, and abstracts that are published, in press, or available on public preprint servers may be cited, and web links or URLs must be numbered and included in the reference list in full.
Figures & Tables
Tables under one page may be placed within the manuscript, larger tables may be placed at the end of the text file, and figure titles and legends must be provided in the main manuscript rather than in the graphic file. Figures should be numbered in the order first mentioned, and tables should be numbered and cited in sequence using Arabic numerals.

The cover letter must describe why the manuscript should be published, address any policy issues, declare potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved submission, confirm the work has not been published or submitted elsewhere, and explain how the case is rare or unusual and its educational and/or scientific merits.
Abstract
An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 350 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must include the headings Background, Case presentation, and Conclusions.
Manuscript
The manuscript must include the sections Background, Case presentation, Discussion and Conclusions, and a Declarations section with all required subheadings. The manuscript must include three to ten keywords, include all relevant positive and negative findings from history, examination and investigation, state in the Consent for publication section that consent to publish was obtained, document any use of a Large Language Model, and write 'Not applicable' in any Declarations subsection that is not relevant.
References
References must follow Vancouver style. References must not be cited in the abstract, unpublished abstracts, unpublished data, and personal communications must not appear in the reference list, journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, and any web references must be listed in full with the site title, full URL, and access date.
Figures & Tables
Figure titles and legends must be provided in the main manuscript rather than in the graphic file, tables shorter than one page may be placed within the manuscript, and longer tables may be placed at the end of the document. Figures must be numbered in the order cited and uploaded in that order, multi-panel figures must be submitted as a single composite file, and clinical photographs must be accompanied by a statement that written consent to publish was obtained from the patient or patients.
