Major Papers

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter must include a very short summary of the work, a description of what is new, and a declaration that all authors consent to the submission.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must be 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 6,400 words including tables and figures but excluding references and figure captions. Manuscript must be organized as Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment, Conflicts of Interest, References, and Legends.
References References must use Vancouver style. References must be numbered consecutively in order of appearance, cited in the text in lower-case superscript, list all authors when there are six or fewer or the first three followed by "et al." when there are seven or more, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, and include inclusive page numbers and DOIs when applicable.
Figures & Tables Legends for figures and supplementary materials must be provided on a separate page after the References section in the text document. Tables and figures must be cited in the text in consecutive order, tables numbered with Arabic numerals and titled above, and figures numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals and given a short title.
