Marine Environmental Research publishes original research papers on chemical, physical, and biological interactions in the oceans and coastal waters. The journal focuses on biology, chemistry, toxicology, marine environmental processes, multidisciplinary studies, anthropogenic and natural drivers of change in marine ecosystems, theoretical and conceptual developments in marine science, and methodological papers that improve quantitative techniques for the marine sciences.

Abstract Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Full-Length Articles typically range from 5,000 to 10,000 words. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. Manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords, required article highlights of 3 to 5 bullet points submitted separately, and a declaration of any generative AI use in manuscript preparation.
References Full-Length Articles must have no more than 50 references. References must be cited in the text as numbers in square brackets and numbered in the order of appearance, with consistent formatting at submission.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables are submitted as editable text. Tables must be editable text with consecutive numbering and captions, and all figures and tables must be cited in the manuscript text.
