Nursing Inquiry is an international peer-reviewed quarterly journal that publishes emerging topics of interest in nursing and healthcare. It aims to stimulate debate and advance knowledge toward practical action for healthcare professionals, social scientists, and health policy makers, and encourages examination of current nursing practices from a range of disciplinary angles, scientific perspectives, analytic approaches, social locations, and philosophical positions.

Original Article

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Original Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be 150–200 words. Abstract must be unstructured. Abstract must not contain subheadings.
Manuscript Original Articles must be 6000–8000 words. Main text must include abstract, introduction, methods, results as appropriate, and conclusions in a logical sequence. Manuscript must include a data availability statement, and use of artificial intelligence generated content tools must be disclosed in detail in the Methods section if applicable.
References References may be submitted in any style or format if used consistently throughout the manuscript. Reference lists must include author surnames and initials, source title, article title where applicable, publication year, volume and issue or chapter pagination, page range or article identifier, and URL or DOI where applicable.
Figures & Tables Figures should be supplied as separate files, while the main text file must place tables and figure legends after the references. Figures and tables must have legends, and all figures must be numbered and cited in the order they appear in the text.
