Obesity Facts is a multi-disciplinary, peer-reviewed open access journal dedicated to all aspects of obesity, its comorbidities, and related disease processes, including basic science and physiology underlying adiposity, treatment and management of obesity, epidemiology, public health, sociocultural and socioeconomic factors, and public health policy and environmental concerns related to obesity prevention and management. The journal publishes original research, reviews, case reports, guidelines, methods articles, brief reports, and letters.

Original Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must describe the knowledge gap addressed, discuss the research significance and implications, explain fit with the journal scope, emphasize the manuscript’s unique contribution, and name any special issue or article collection invitation where applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be unstructured and presented in a single paragraph.
Manuscript Original Research manuscripts must include a Methods section with sufficient detail to allow replication and a statements section placed after the main text and before the references. Manuscript must include 3 to 5 keywords on the title page, a statements section, Funding Sources, Author Contributions, and a clear declaration of any generative AI use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section as applicable.
References References must be cited sequentially in the text using Arabic numerals in square brackets and listed numerically in citation order with up to 6 authors before adding et al.
Figures & Tables Tables and figures must be submitted as separate files, with one file per figure, while figure legends belong at the end of the manuscript text. Table headers must appear in the table file, and figures associated with articles requiring an abstract must also include a graphical abstract submitted as a single separate image.
