It covers renal cell biology, renal pathology and pathophysiology, genetics of kidney diseases, renal immunology, hemodynamics regulation, electrolytes and acid-base balance, clinical trials, observational studies, dialysis research, and interdisciplinary topics such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, endocrine disorders related to kidney injury, renal nutrition, and health care policy. The journal also publishes invited review articles, editorials, and rapid communications.

Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must describe the knowledge gap addressed, explain the implications and significance of the research, and outline how the manuscript fits the journal scope.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be structured rather than unstructured. The abstract must use the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Research Articles are typically 5000 words in length. The manuscript must include Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections. The manuscript must contain Statement of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Statement, Funding Sources, Author Contributions, and Data Availability Statement after the main body and before the references, and any generative AI use must be declared in the Methods section.
References Citations must appear sequentially as Arabic numerals in square brackets and the reference list must contain only cited works arranged numerically in citation order.
Figures & Tables Research Articles typically include 4 to 8 tables and figures. Figures and tables must be uploaded as separate items in their original file format rather than embedded in the manuscript. Figure legends must use the format “Fig. 1.” or “Fig. 1. a”.
