Proceedings of the Nutrition Society publishes papers and abstracts presented by members and invited speakers at the scientific meetings of The Nutrition Society and, on occasion, those of partner societies. The journal provides a record of current scientific research in nutrition and serves academics, researchers, and clinical practice workers in human and animal nutrition and related fields.

Submission Instructions

Proceedings of The Nutrition Society is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter should inform the relevant editor that the manuscript draws on a thesis.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Unstructured. The abstract should begin with the objective or aim of the review paper, followed by the key findings, and end with a clear conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript should not exceed 7000 words, excluding references. Manuscript should include a title page, abstract, main body of the paper, acknowledgments section, financial support section, declaration of interests section, and authorship section. The title page should include the title, authors' names, affiliations, corresponding author contact details, and three or four keywords or phrases; AI tool use must be declared and described where applicable.
References Superscript Arabic numerals in parentheses. References should be numbered consecutively in the order first cited in the text and listed in numerical order on separate pages.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate electronic files, while tables should be placed at the end of the main manuscript file and not within the main text. Figure legends should be grouped at the end of the manuscript text, figures should be clearly numbered and labeled, each figure should include abbreviation definitions, and tables should have headings and defined abbreviations in footnotes.
