Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An unstructured abstract is required for Original Articles. Abstract must not exceed 200 words. Abstract must be unstructured. No headings are required in the abstract, and abbreviations and acronyms are not allowed.
Manuscript Manuscript must be 3000–3500 words including the abstract but excluding references, tables, and figures. Manuscript must contain the sections abstract, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. Three to 10 keywords or key phrases must be supplied below the abstract in alphabetical order, and an Author Contributions section must appear after the Disclosure Statement and before the References section.
References References must not exceed 100. References must follow Vancouver style. References must be numbered in citation order, list all authors when there are six or fewer and the first six followed by et al. when there are seven or more, and use Index Medicus journal abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables combined must not exceed 7. Figures should be supplied as separate files, while tables should be included on a separate page in the manuscript. Figures and tables must have legends or captions and be numbered with Arabic numerals.
