Head and Neck Pathology focuses on pathology of the oral cavity, sinonasal tract, larynx, hypopharynx, salivary gland, ear, temporal bone and neck. The journal publishes developments in diagnostic criteria, intraoperative consultation, immunohistochemical studies, molecular techniques, genetic analyses, diagnostic aids, clinical correlation and radiographic imaging. It reports on uniform terminology, supports daily clinical practice with new research and reviews, publishes proceedings and symposia from international societies and meetings, curates collections on diverse topics, and provides a venue for commentary on issues in the field.

Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must describe the significance and novelty of the work and include the statements "All authors have read and approved the manuscript" and "This manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere."
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must be no more than 350 words. Abstract must be structured.
Manuscript Manuscript must include a Declarations section before the reference list. Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a disclosure statement, a data availability statement stating what data are available, where they can be found, and any access terms, and documentation of any large language model use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section.
References References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets and listed consecutively in the reference list.
Figures & Tables Tables must be submitted at the end of the paper rather than embedded in the text, and figure captions must be included in the manuscript text file while figures should be submitted separately if possible. Figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals and cited in consecutive numerical order, with each table and figure accompanied by a caption.

References Citations must be numbered in square brackets in the text and the reference list must be numbered consecutively and include only cited works that have been published or accepted for publication.
Figures & Tables Tables must be placed at the end of the manuscript rather than embedded in the text, and figures should be submitted separately from the text if possible. Tables and figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals in the order cited, each table must have a caption, and each figure must have a concise caption included in the manuscript text file.

References Correspondence must include 5 to 10 references. References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets and listed consecutively in a numbered reference list containing only works cited in the text that have been published or accepted for publication.

Cover letter must describe the significance and novelty of the work, state that all authors have read and approved the manuscript, state that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere, and include either the specified statement about statistical review or the statement that no statistical analysis was performed.
Abstract Abstract is required for Case Reports. Abstract must be unstructured and no more than 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Case Report must present pertinent clinical, imaging, pathology, and ancillary information on a particularly novel or exceedingly rare entity within the context of a thorough investigative review of the literature. Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a Declarations section before the reference list that includes all seven specified disclosure statements even when not applicable, and documentation of any large language model use in the Methods section or another suitable section.
References References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets and listed consecutively in numbered order, including only works cited in the text that have been published or accepted for publication.
Figures & Tables Tables must be placed at the end of the manuscript rather than embedded in the text, and figures should be submitted separately from the text if possible while figure captions remain in the manuscript file. Tables and figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals in the order cited, and each must have a caption with figure captions beginning with "Fig." followed by the figure number.
