Journal of Neural Transmission establishes an interface between basic neurosciences and clinical neurology and psychiatry. It publishes translational research in neurosciences and associated clinical fields, covering translational neuroscience, neurology and preclinical neurological studies, psychiatry, and preclinical psychiatric studies, with interests including neurochemistry, neuropharmacology, neurobiology, clinical biochemistry, neurotransmission, neurology, and psychiatry.

Research Papers

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required and must be structured. Structured abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured.
Manuscript Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a disclosure statement, a data availability statement explaining access to supporting data including links or citations to public datasets when applicable, documentation of any LLM use in the Methods section or suitable alternative, and relevant declarations under the heading "Statements and Declarations."
References References must use name-and-year citation style. Reference list must include only works cited in the text that are published or accepted, be alphabetized by the last name of the first author, and include full DOI links when available.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, with large figures submitted separately only if file size causes upload problems. Tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals and cited consecutively in the text, each table and figure must have a caption, and figures must not include titles or captions within the artwork.
