Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must provide the corresponding author's affiliation and contact information, briefly explain the importance of the work and its suitability for the journal's diverse readership, confirm originality, and include a competing interests statement.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings BACKGROUND, METHODS, RESULTS, and CONCLUSIONS.
Manuscript Main body of text including the abstract must not exceed 3,000 words. Article submissions must follow the required article structure and include Methods sufficient for reproduction of the experimental procedures. Manuscript must include a Data Availability Statement, document any use of a large language model in the Methods section or suitable alternative section, and include a Competing Interests statement before the References section.
References References must not exceed 50. References must follow Vancouver format. References must be numbered in order of citation and listed in numerical order, with up to six authors listed in full and the first six followed by et al. when there are more than six authors.
Figures & Tables Articles may include a maximum of 5 tables or figures. Figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded in the text, and each table must be uploaded as a separate file. Figure legends must be provided on a separate manuscript page after the References section, and all tables must be editable.

Systematic Reviews

Systematic Reviews must include background, methods, results, and conclusion sections, and the Methods section must report the citation indexes and databases searched to generate the review content. Use of a large language model must be documented in the Methods section or another suitable part of the manuscript if no Methods section is available.
References Systematic Reviews may include a maximum of 100 references. References must follow Vancouver format. References must be numbered in citation order and listed in double-spaced numerical order at the end of the paper, with up to six authors listed in full and more than six shortened to the first six followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Tables must be uploaded as separate files and figures must not be embedded in the text but uploaded as separate files. All tables must be editable and each table and figure must be labelled sequentially and cited in the text in the correct order.
