Psychotherapy accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must include author names, affiliations, and contact information, explain any manuscript that exceeds 25–35 pages, address any necessary APA publication policy or ethical principles issues, and state any intention to include supplemental material.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. Unstructured.
Manuscript Original Article submissions should be 25–35 pages, all inclusive. A short clinical impact statement with the headings Question, Findings, Meaning, and Next Steps is required, and up to five keywords or brief phrases must follow the abstract.
References APA style. References must be listed in alphabetical order, and every listed reference must be cited in the text while every text citation must appear in the References section.
Figures & Tables Tables must be created using Word's Insert Table function, multipanel figures must be assembled into one file, and figure wording must be understandable in both online color and print black-and-white formats.
