Personality Disorders Theory Research and Treatment accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.
Full-Length Articles
Cover Letter
A cover letter is required. The cover letter must indicate the proposed category of the manuscript and include a complete reference list of prior uses of the data along with a description of the extent and nature of any overlap with previous work.
Abstract
An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract structure is not specified.
Manuscript
Full-Length Articles must not exceed 36 pages total, including cover page, abstract, text, references, tables, and figures. The manuscript must be double-spaced throughout and include a method subsection titled “Transparency and Openness.” The manuscript must include up to five keywords after the abstract, report in the first footnote whether the study was preregistered, and state in the article where any preregistration can be accessed.
References
References must follow APA 7th edition style. References must be listed in alphabetical order, and every reference listed must be cited in the text with every text citation included in the reference list.
Figures & Tables
Tables must be created using Word's insert table function.

Narrative Reviews must not exceed 40 pages. Narrative Reviews must provide a systematic, integrative synthesis of the empirical literature in a given area and/or serve as a springboard to the development of a new theory or model. The manuscript must include up to five keywords or brief phrases after the abstract, and the title page must list five keywords.
References
Manuscripts must be prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition. References must be listed in alphabetical order, and every reference entry and in-text citation must correspond to each other.
