Pulmonary Circulation accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must explain why the paper is suitable for publication and include the names and affiliations of at least three potential external reviewers with no recent professional or personal association with any author.
Abstract Research Articles must include an abstract. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph.
Manuscript The text must not exceed 9,000 words. The manuscript must include an untitled introduction followed by Methods, Results, and Discussion sections under those headings, with no separate Conclusion section, and include abstract, keywords, acknowledgments, references, figures, and tables. The manuscript must include three to five keywords and sections for Conflicting interests, Funding, Guarantor, Contributorship, and Acknowledgements, and any use of AI-generated content tools must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References The manuscript must include no more than 80 references. References must use Vancouver style.
Figures & Tables The manuscript must include no more than 8 tables and figures. Tables must be included in the main manuscript file, and each figure must be submitted as a separate file.

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter must explain why the paper is suitable for publication and include the names and affiliations of at least three potential external reviewers with no recent professional or personal association with any author.
Abstract Review Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be a single paragraph.
Manuscript Text must be 15,000–20,000 words. Manuscript must include an untitled introductory section and end with a section titled Summary, Conclusions, or similar, and it must include discussion, summary including conclusions and future directions, acknowledgments, references, figures, figure legends, and tables. Manuscript must include three to five keywords, sections for Conflicting interests, Funding, Guarantor, Contributorship, and Acknowledgements, and a transparent AI-use disclosure in the Methods or Acknowledgements section if AI-generated content tools were used.
References Review Articles must include no more than 200 references. References must use Vancouver style.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include up to 15 figures and 5 tables. All manuscript pages including tables and figure legends must be in the same file, and each figure must be submitted as a separate file. Graphical abstracts are optional and, if provided, must consist of a single concise figure using colorblind-accessible palettes.

State Of The Art Review

Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph.
Manuscript The text must not exceed 3,000 words. Methods, results, and discussion must be kept distinct and separate, and there must be no separate section labeled Conclusion. The manuscript must include three to five keywords and sections for Conflicting interests, Funding, Ethical approval, Guarantor, Contributorship, and Acknowledgements, and any AI-generated content tool use must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References The manuscript must include no more than 75 references. References must use Vancouver style.
Figures & Tables The manuscript must include no more than 3 figures. Tables and figure legends must be included in the main manuscript file, and each figure must be submitted as a separate file. Methods must not be described or restated in figure legends or table notes.
