Radiography is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Society and College of Radiographers and the European Federation of Radiographer Societies. It promotes evidence-based practice by disseminating clinical, scientific and educational research related to all aspects of diagnostic and therapeutic radiography, and publishes research articles, systematic and narrative reviews, editorials and letters of international relevance that advance knowledge and encourage innovation within radiography.

Original Full Length Research Papers

Cover Letter A cover letter must be submitted with the manuscript. The cover letter must confirm that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere, provide full contact details for each author, identify who is responsible for the integrity of the work as a whole, confirm approval by all authors and responsible authorities, disclose conflicts of interest, report any very similar submissions or reports, and state whether any parts of the article were sent by post.
Abstract A scientific abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 280 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract headings must be Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Implications for practice.
Manuscript Manuscript must be 3,000 words excluding the reference list and figures, except qualitative and mixed methods papers may be up to 4,000 words. Manuscript should follow the standard scientific article format of Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. Manuscript must include up to 6 keywords after the abstract, state the word count at the end, and include a generative AI use declaration section before the references list.
References References must be cited by superscript numbers and listed in the order of appearance in the text, with the first 6 authors listed followed by "et al." when there are more than 6 authors.
Figures & Tables A maximum of 6 figures is recommended. Each illustration must be submitted as a separate file, captions to illustrations must be provided separately, and tables must be submitted as editable text. Figures must include relevant captions and be numbered according to their sequence in the text, and tables must include titles, descriptions, and footnotes and be numbered consecutively in the order they appear.

Systematic Review And Meta Analyses

Narrative Review Articles

Cover letter must confirm the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere, provide full contact details for each author and identify who is responsible for the integrity of the work as a whole, confirm approval by all authors and responsible authorities, describe very similar submissions or reports by the authors, state whether the authors or their institutions have conflicts of interest, and confirm whether any parts of the article were sent by post to the Editorial Office.
Abstract A review abstract is required. Abstract must be no more than 280 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Objectives, Key Findings, Conclusion, and Implications for practice.
Manuscript Narrative Review Articles should be approximately 3,500 words in length. Narrative Review Articles should state the sources used, such as databases, publications, and free text searches. Manuscript must include up to 6 keywords after the abstract, include the word count at the end, and provide a declaration of generative AI use in a section before the references or state "Not applicable" if none was used.
References References must be cited in the text using superscript numbers and listed in reference-list order of appearance, with the first 6 authors named followed by "et al." for works with more than 6 authors and journal names abbreviated according to the List of Title Word Abbreviations.
Figures & Tables A maximum of 6 figures is recommended. Each illustration must be submitted as a separate file, captions to illustrations must be provided separately, and tables must be submitted as editable text. Figures must include relevant captions and be numbered in text sequence, and tables must include titles, descriptions, footnotes, and consecutive numbering in text order.

What are the publication costs?
