Thrombosis and Haemostasis publishes reports on basic, translational and clinical research in thrombosis and haemostasis, vascular biology and medicine, inflammation and infection, and platelet and leukocyte biology, spanning genetic, molecular, cellular, diagnostic, therapeutic, preventative, translational, and clinical studies. The journal also publishes position and guideline papers, state-of-the-art papers, expert analysis, commentaries, and theme issues, and is published monthly in print and online.

Thrombosis and Haemostasis accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter must accompany the submission.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be up to 250 words.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 5,000 words. Manuscript should include up to 5 keywords, an extra summary table with the headings 'What is known on this topic' and 'What does this paper add?' containing two or three bullet points per part, and a Graphical Abstract submitted as a separate single-panel file distinct from the manuscript figures.
References References should be no more than 50. References must use AMA style. References must be cited sequentially in the text using superscript numbers, list all authors up to six and the first three followed by et al. for more than six, and use Index Medicus journal title abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded in the text, and tables must be uploaded separately and not interspersed in the text. The Graphical Abstract must accompany the submission as a separate single-panel image file named 'Graphical Abstract' in 16:9 aspect ratio, at least 120 mm wide, and distinct from the manuscript figures.

Review Article

Abstract Review Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be no more than 250 words.
Manuscript Manuscript may include up to 5 keywords, and a separate single-panel Graphical Abstract file is required.
References Review Articles should include no more than 150 references. References must follow AMA style. References must be cited sequentially in the text using superscript numbers, list all authors up to six and the first three followed by et al. for more than six, and use Index Medicus journal title abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be uploaded as separate files and must not be embedded or interspersed in the manuscript text. Figure captions must appear after the references, tables must appear after the figure captions, and the Graphical Abstract must be a separate self-explanatory single-panel image distinct from manuscript figures.

References must be cited sequentially in the text using superscript numbers, listed after the text, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, list up to six authors or the first three followed by et al for more than six authors, and must not end with a period.
Figures & Tables A maximum of 1 table or figure may be included. Figures and tables must not be embedded in the text and must be uploaded as separate files. Figures and corresponding captions and tables must be numbered sequentially in the order cited, with figure captions placed after the references and tables placed after the figure captions.
