Full-Length Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A concise and factual abstract is required.
Manuscript Full-Length Articles should not exceed 6000 words excluding references. The article must be divided into clearly defined sections and contain the essential elements needed to convey the manuscript, including Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions, Artwork, and Tables with Captions. Manuscripts must include keywords with a maximum of 6, submit 3 to 5 highlights as a separate editable file, include a competing interests statement and author contributions statement, provide a glossary as a separate list, and add an AI-use declaration in a new section before the references when generative AI tools were used.
References Full-Length Articles usually contain fewer than 50 references. References in the text must be indicated by number in square brackets, the reference list must be numbered in order of appearance, and for references with more than 6 authors the first 6 authors must be listed followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Full-Length Articles typically allow up to 8 figures and 6 tables. Figures and tables in the manuscript file must be placed next to the relevant text with the corresponding caption directly below, although for Word submissions at revision stage figures, captions, and tables may be provided within a single file. All figures must include relevant captions and be numbered according to their sequence in the text, and all tables must be submitted as editable text with titles, descriptions, and footnotes and numbered consecutively in the order cited.

Review Articles

Manuscript Review Articles should be 4,000–10,000 words. Review Articles should present a balanced review of the field. References Review Articles suggest fewer than 100 citations. References must be cited by number in square brackets. The reference list must be numbered in the order of appearance in the text, list the first 6 authors followed by 'et al.' when there are more than 6 authors, and use abbreviated journal names.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include up to 8 display items, including figures, schema, and tables. Figures and tables in the manuscript file must be placed next to the relevant text with the corresponding caption directly below. All figures must include relevant captions and all tables must include titles, descriptions, and footnotes.
