Translational Research is a monthly journal published since 1915 that covers laboratory, clinical, and public health research across biomedical medicine. It focuses on interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary work that advances the translation of scientific discovery into improved standards of care, including preclinical, clinical, epidemiologic, health outcomes, and public health research. The journal is published in association with Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

Original Research Articles

Cover Letter All authors must have approved the submitted version of the manuscript.
Abstract A concise and factual abstract is required for Original Research Articles. Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Original Research Articles have no maximum word limit. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections covering all essential elements using headings. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords and, if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation, a disclosure statement in a new section before the references list.
References Every reference cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa, and references cited in the abstract must be given in full.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript, while tables must be submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the manuscript text, numbered consecutively, and provided with captions.

Letters To The Editor

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Letters to the Editor must not exceed 1000 words. Letters to the Editor must comment on published articles and should aim to confirm results using a different approach, extend the original report, or refute the results or authors’ interpretation. A declaration of competing interests must be uploaded, and any use of generative AI in manuscript preparation must be disclosed in a separate section placed before the references list.
References Letters to the Editor may include a maximum of 15 references. Every reference cited in the text must appear in the reference list and every reference list entry must be cited in the text.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files alongside the manuscript, while tables must be submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered in the order of appearance, and accompanied by captions.
