Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must confirm that all listed authors had the opportunity to read and comment on the manuscript, and for clinical trials it must include the trial registration citation.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured and presented as a single paragraph. Abstract must state the purpose of the investigation, basic procedures, specific findings, and the principal conclusion without section headings.
Manuscript Body text must not exceed 20 double-spaced manuscript pages, excluding references. Manuscript must be organized as title page, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments, list of abbreviations, references, tables, and figures. Title page must include keywords, the manuscript must include an alphabetical list of nonstandard abbreviations, and any use of AI-generated content tools must be transparently described in the Methods section.
References Articles must include no more than 60 references. References must be numbered consecutively in order of mention using superscript numerals, with journal titles abbreviated per MEDLINE style and author lists giving up to 7 authors or the first 6 followed by et al when there are more than 7.
Figures & Tables Articles must include no more than 8 tables and figures in total. Figures and any supplementary files must be uploaded separately, while figure captions must appear on a separate page following the tables.
