Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for Article submissions. The cover letter must state originality and exclusive submission, include all authors’ names, institutions, and e-mail addresses, provide at least three potential referees with contact information if known, and include a conflict of interest statement for all authors.
Abstract An abstract is required for Article submissions. The abstract must be 250 words. The abstract is unstructured. No mandatory abstract headings are specified.
Manuscript The main text must not exceed 6,000 words excluding the abstract, tables, figure legends, and references. The manuscript must include Title Page, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interest if applicable, and References. A graphical abstract must be submitted as a single Figure file titled 'Graphical abstract' and accompanied by a textual caption summarizing the main findings in less than 100 words.
References The manuscript must not exceed 60 references. References must be numbered consecutively in the text using superscripts. Each reference must be listed individually in numerical order at the end of the manuscript with authors formatted as surname followed by initials and with article titles included.
Figures & Tables Article submissions may include 6–8 display items. Figures must not be embedded in the text and must be uploaded as separate files, with figure legends submitted separately. Figures and tables must be labeled sequentially and cited in the text.

Review Article submissions must include Title Page, Introduction if applicable, Main text, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interest if applicable, and References. A graphical abstract must be submitted as a Figure file titled 'Graphical abstract' and accompanied by a caption summarizing the main findings in less than 100 words.
References Review Article submissions may include no more than 100 references. References must be numbered consecutively in the text as superscripts and listed individually by number at the end of the manuscript with one reference per number.
Figures & Tables Review Article submissions may include up to 8 display items. Display items must be prepared in separate files and figures must not be embedded within the text. Figure legends must be submitted on a separate sheet, and any graphical abstract must be submitted as a single file with a white background.

Abstract Abstract is not required for Correspondence submissions.
Manuscript Correspondence submissions should typically be 250–500 words. Correspondence must contain Main text, Conflict of Interest (if applicable), and References.
References Correspondence may include no more than 10 references. References must be numbered consecutively in the text using superscripts and listed individually at the end of the manuscript with one reference per number, using surname followed by initials and including article titles.
