Cover Letter
A cover letter is required. The cover letter should explain why the manuscript is suitable for publication and must disclose any writing or editing assistance by a third party or submission made on behalf of the authors by someone not listed as an author.
Abstract
An abstract is required. The abstract must be no more than 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must include the headings Significance, Recent Advances, Critical Issues, and Future Directions.
Manuscript
The main scientific body must be 5,000–7,500 words, excluding the abstract, figure legends, references, abbreviations, and other text such as About the Authors. The article must begin with 1.0 Scope and Significance, 2.0 Translational Relevance, and 3.0 Clinical Relevance, include a table of content after the abstract, and end with a one- or two-paragraph Summary followed by itemized Take-Home Messages and then Acknowledgments, Author Confirmation, Author Disclosure and Ghostwriting, Funding Statement, About the Authors, Abbreviations and Acronyms, References, Figure legends, and Tables. The manuscript must include at least 4 keywords after the abstract, a simplified summary graphic illustration as Figure 1 in the INNOVATION section, Author Contributions, a Statements and Declarations section, an About the Authors section of no more than 200 words, and an alphabetical abbreviations list placed just before the References.
References
Manuscripts may include a maximum of 150 references. References must follow the Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in both places.
Figures & Tables
Figures must be uploaded separately and must not be embedded in the manuscript file, and figure legends must be uploaded as a separate Word file. Figures must be numbered consecutively in text order and each figure must have a detailed self-explanatory legend, while tables should be used only when unavoidable.
