Research Papers

Cover Letter Author comments to the Editor must state that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere, that all authors contributed significantly and approve the contents, and that the authors have no relevant financial interests in the findings.
Abstract A structured abstract is required for Research Papers. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must be divided into Background, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Research Papers should not exceed 3500 words. The manuscript must be organized as Title Page, Structured abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, References, Legends, and Tables and Figures. Highlights are mandatory and must be submitted as a separate editable file named to include 'Highlights' with 3 to 5 bullet points of no more than 85 characters each, and any use of generative AI in manuscript preparation must be declared in a new section before the references list.
References Research Papers must contain no more than 50 references. References must be cited by numbers in square brackets. The reference list must be numbered in order of appearance in the text, list no more than six authors before using et al., and use journal abbreviations from the List of Title Word Abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Research Papers may include no more than 6 figures including tables. Each illustration must be submitted as a separate file, captions to illustrations must be provided separately, and tables must be submitted as editable text rather than images. A single figure or table must contain no more than 8 separate panels labeled from (a) to (h).

Review Articles

Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must provide the context or background, purpose, basic procedures, main findings, and principal conclusions.
Manuscript Review Articles should not exceed 3500 words from introduction to conclusion. Highlights are mandatory and must be submitted as a separate editable file with 3 to 5 bullet points of no more than 85 characters each, a maximum of 6 keywords must follow the abstract, an AI-use declaration must appear in a new section before the references when applicable, and a short first-author biography of up to 100 words plus a passport-type photograph of the first author must be included.
References Review Articles must contain no more than 50 references except in exceptional circumstances. References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets and listed in numerical order of appearance, with up to six authors named before using et al. for additional authors.

References References must not exceed 10. References must be cited in the text by numbers in square brackets and listed in numerical order, with up to six authors named before using et al. for additional authors.
