Original Article

Cover Letter Cover letter is required only when third-party writing or editing assistance, non-author submission on behalf of the authors, or required written patient consent must be disclosed. Cover letter must disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance, any non-author who submitted on behalf of the authors, and written patient consent receipt and archiving when applicable.
Abstract Original Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be unstructured and must not exceed 300 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Original Article manuscripts must not exceed 4,000 words. Manuscript must include a Materials and Methods section, Author Contributions after the Acknowledgements, and a Statements and Declarations section at the end of the article. Manuscript must include at least 4 keywords after the abstract, sequence accession numbers in a separate section following the Acknowledgments when applicable, and AI use disclosures in the Materials and Methods section when applicable.
References References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in both locations.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include a maximum of 10 figures and 6 tables. Figures must be numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text.
