Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An unstructured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Text must be organized under the four main headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include three to five key words or phrases, a conflicts and funding statement on the title page, an acknowledgments paragraph for support, and AI-use disclosures in the Materials and Methods or a similar section when applicable.
References References must follow the American Medical Association Manual of Style, 9th edition. References must be cited in the text in order of appearance, and for works with more than three authors only the first three authors should be listed followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Figures must be submitted as separate files rather than embedded in the manuscript, figure legends must appear on a separate page after the text, and each table must appear on a separate page rather than within the manuscript body. Figures and tables must be cited consecutively in the text, legends are required for figures, and each table must include a title, appropriate column heads, and explanatory legends including definitions of abbreviations.
