Clinical Epigenetics is an open access journal covering the broad spectrum of epigenetics research from basic research to innovations in therapeutic treatments, with a focus on epigenetic principles and mechanisms as applied to human development, disease, diagnosis and treatment. The journal welcomes submissions involving clinical trials, translational research, new and innovative methodologies, and mechanistic insights provided by model organisms.

Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required and should include why the manuscript should be published, any issues relating to journal policies, potential competing interests, confirmation that all authors approved submission, confirmation that the work has not been published or submitted elsewhere, reviewer suggestions, and the special issue name if applicable. Cover letter should explain the manuscript’s suitability for publication, note any journal policy issues, declare potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved submission, confirm the work has not been published or submitted elsewhere, include reviewer suggestions, and name any relevant special issue.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract should be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript should include a Background section, a methods section covering aim, design, setting, participants or materials, processes, interventions and comparisons, a Results section, a Discussion section, a Conclusions section, and a Declarations section. Manuscript must include three to ten keywords and a Declarations section with the subheadings Ethics approval and consent to participate, Consent for publication, Availability of data and materials, Competing interests, Funding, Authors' contributions, Acknowledgements, and Authors' information, with any irrelevant subheading retained and marked 'Not applicable'.
References References must follow Vancouver style. Only published, in-press, clinical trial registration records, abstracts, or publicly available preprints may be cited, unpublished abstracts, unpublished data, and personal communications must be excluded from the reference list, journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, and URLs must appear as numbered references in full.
Figures & Tables Tables shorter than one page may be placed within the manuscript, larger tables may be placed at the end of the document, and figures must be uploaded separately in the order first cited. Multi-panel figures must be submitted as a single composite file, figure titles and legends must be provided in the manuscript rather than the image file, and tables must be created using the word processor’s table function rather than embedded as figures.

Brief Report
