Clinical Trials

Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract does not need to be structured. Primary or secondary analyses from a clinical trial must give the trial registration number at the end of the abstract, and if data are deposited in a public repository or used in a secondary analysis, the unique persistent data set identifier and repository name and number must also be stated at the end of the abstract.
Manuscript Clinical Trials must not exceed 5000 words. The submission must include 3–5 keywords and 3–5 key points, and when the trial acronym is first used in the manuscript the registration number and a link to the trial registration cited as a reference must be provided.
References Clinical Trials should include no more than 50 references. References must be numbered in order of citation using square brackets in the text, and the reference list must list all authors unless there are more than six, in which case the first three are followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Clinical Trials must not exceed 10 tables/figures. Each table and figure must have a title, and all images, figures, illustrations, and photographs must include alt text in the main manuscript directly under the relevant figure legend beginning with 'Alt text:'.
