Aging Cell is an open access geroscience journal publishing research addressing the biology of aging. The journal welcomes research that reports the mechanistic, molecular, and cellular aspects of the aging process, as well as the links between aging and age-related disease. Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter should be provided with the submission. The cover letter should state the relevance of the findings, place them in the context of the current status of the field, and include at least 3 possible reviewers.
Abstract A summary is required for Review Articles. The Summary must be less than 250 words. The Summary should be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 7,500 words excluding the Author Checklist, Title Page, Tables, Figures, and References, and this limit includes the Summary and figure legends. Review Articles must be written as a continuous narrative and may use subheadings. The manuscript should include 3-8 keywords.
References References must follow APA 6th edition style. Text citations must use the author-date format and the reference list must be alphabetical by author name, with all cited works included and DOIs provided where available.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include up to 6 figures and up to 2 tables. The manuscript may be submitted as separate files with figures apart from the main text, or as a single-file submission. Tables and figures must be understandable without reference to the text and their legends must be concise but comprehensive.

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured. Abstract must include an introduction, scientific background to the problem, a summary of the main results, the implications of the results, and a broader multidisciplinary perspective.
Manuscript Manuscript must be no more than 7,500 words excluding the Author Checklist, Title Page, Tables, Figures, and References. Main text file should be ordered as title page, abstract and keywords, acknowledgments, conflict of interest statement, funding statement, permission statement, authors’ contributions, data availability statement where applicable, and references. Manuscript must include 3–8 keywords, with at least 2 keywords present in the title.
References References are limited to a maximum of 45. References must follow APA 6th edition style. Text citations must use author-date format and the reference list must appear alphabetically by author name at the end of the paper.
Figures & Tables Research Articles may include up to 6 figures and up to 2 tables. Manuscript may be submitted as separate files with figures apart from the main text file, or as a single-file submission. Tables must be supplied as editable files rather than pasted as images, and figure and table legends must be concise, comprehensive, and understandable without reference to the text.

Mini-Reviews

Manuscript Mini-Reviews have a suggested word count of 4,000 words. Main text file should be ordered as title page, abstract and keywords, acknowledgments, conflict of interest statement, funding statement, permission statement, authors’ contributions, data availability statement where applicable, and references. Manuscript must include 3-8 keywords, with at least 2 keywords appearing in the title.
References References must follow APA 6th edition style. Text citations must use author-date style and the reference list must be alphabetized by author name with DOIs included where available.
Figures & Tables Manuscript may be submitted as separate files with figures apart from the main text, or as a single-file submission. Tables and figures must be self-contained with concise but comprehensive legends, and tables must be supplied as editable files rather than pasted as images.

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 1,500 words excluding the Author Checklist, Title Page, Tables, Figures, and References. The Introduction, Results, and Discussion sections must be merged into one continuous text, and Experimental Procedures essential to the core argument must be detailed enough to enable reproduction while non-essential procedures must be placed in Supporting Information. The manuscript must include 3–8 keywords.
References References are limited to a maximum of 20. References must follow APA 6th edition style. Text citations must use author-date format, the reference list must be alphabetical by author name, and DOI information must be included where available.
Figures & Tables Short Communications may include no more than two figures, or one figure and one table, or two tables. The manuscript may be submitted as separate files with figures apart from the main text file, and supporting information must be cited within the text. Tables and figures must have concise, comprehensive legends and each table or figure with its legend must be understandable without reference to the main text.
