Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter signed by all authors is required. The cover letter must confirm originality, absence of simultaneous submission or prior publication, absence of conflicts of interest, agreement to transfer copyright if accepted, and any use of generative AI including the tool name and purpose.
Abstract An abstract is required for Review Articles. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured and written as one single fluid paragraph without sections. The abstract should state the primary objective of the review, the principal reasoning for the procedures adopted, the procedures used, the main results of the referred studies, and the conclusions drawn from the available data.
Manuscript Review Articles should be 20–22 double-spaced pages including references, figures, and tables. The text should include at least an Introduction and a Conclusion. Review Articles must include 4–6 keywords or short phrases after the abstract taken from the Medical Subject Headings list, and any use of AI must be explicitly declared in the manuscript.
References Review Articles must include no more than 50 references. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first appearance using Arabic numerals as superindexes without brackets. References must list all authors when there are six or fewer, list the first six followed by et al. when there are more than six, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, exclude personal communications and unpublished or unaccepted work from the reference list, and mark accepted but unpublished work as in press.
Figures & Tables Figures, legends, tables, and captions must be included as separate sections of the manuscript, with captions beginning on a separate page and each table typed on a separate sheet. Figures must be professionally prepared in black and white with photomicrographs including internal scale markers, and tables and figure captions must use Arabic numerals.
