IJID Regions is an official journal of the International Society for Infectious Diseases that publishes high-quality, evidence-based infectious disease science of regional interest and relevance. It focuses on clinical infectious diseases, clinical epidemiology, and public health, with emphasis on research useful to clinicians, scientists, health systems, and public health policy makers, including work relevant to under-resourced countries and regional settings.

Original Articles
Cover Letter
A cover letter is required. The cover letter must state that all authors have read the Instructions to Authors, approved the submitted version, agreed to acknowledged contributors being included, that the material is original, not published or under simultaneous consideration elsewhere, will not be republished without consent if accepted, and that the publishing fee will be covered.
Abstract
A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be 150 to 200 words. The abstract must be structured as four paragraphs. The abstract must use the headings objectives, design or methods, results, and conclusions, or alternative headings appropriate to the paper format.
Manuscript
The manuscript must not exceed 3500 words, counted from the introduction through the end of the conclusion or discussion and excluding the abstract, tables, figures, acknowledgements, and references. The manuscript must include highlights submitted as a separate editable file containing 3 to 5 bullet points of no more than 85 characters each, and it must include keywords and a declaration of any generative AI use before the references.
References
The manuscript may include no more than 30 references. References must be cited by number in square brackets and listed in numerical order, consistent with Vancouver style. For references with more than 6 authors, list the first 6 followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables
The manuscript may include up to 5 figures and tables in total. Each figure and each table must be uploaded as a separate file, and tables must be removed from the main manuscript. Figures must have separate captions and tables must include titles, descriptions, and footnotes.

The covering letter must confirm that all authors read the Instructions to Authors, approved the submitted version, agreed to named acknowledgements or personal communications, that the material is original and not published or under consideration elsewhere, that it will not be republished without consent if accepted, and that the publishing fee will be covered.
Abstract
An abstract is required. The abstract must be 150 to 200 words. The abstract must be structured.
Manuscript
Review Articles must be 2500 to 4000 words from introduction to conclusion or discussion. Review Articles must include at least an abstract, an introduction, and a conclusion. The manuscript must include keywords and mandatory highlights submitted as a separate editable file containing 3 to 5 bullet points of no more than 85 characters each, and it must include a generative AI declaration before the references when AI tools were used.
References
Review Articles may include no more than 30 references. References must be cited by number in square brackets. The reference list must be numbered in the order of appearance in the text, and references with more than 6 authors must list the first 6 followed by 'et al.'.
