Submission Instructions

The Angle Orthodontist accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must disclose all conflicts of interest and attest that all applicable patient releases were obtained and are on file with the Corresponding Author.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured and must not contain an introduction, literature review, or discussion. Abstract must use the headings Objective, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3500 words for the total article file. Text must be organized in the order Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References, and Figure Legends. Conclusion should be presented as bullet points and must not repeat material from other sections.
References References must conform to the American Medical Association Manual of Style, 10th edition. References must refer to published material and be numbered consecutively in order of appearance using superscript Arabic numerals, and personal communications or unpublished theses are not acceptable.
Figures & Tables The article file must contain the figure legends, each table must be submitted as a separate file, and figures must be numbered sequentially in the manuscript. Each table must have its own legend, be numbered with Arabic numerals, and each figure must have a legend in the Figure Legends section.
