Annals of Medicine is a peer-reviewed open access journal publishing across medicine and health, spanning translational medicine to clinical practice and encouraging collaboration across therapy areas. It considers original research, clinical trials, protocols, case series, commentaries, negative and null results, reproducibility studies, and letters to the editor discussing previously published articles. The journal uses single anonymized peer review and has been fully open access since Volume 53 (2021).

Research Articles must include a structured abstract. Abstract must be 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background/Objective(s)/Introduction, Patients/Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion(s).
Manuscript
Manuscript must be ordered as title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Patients/Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, Declaration of Interest statement, Author Contributions statement, Data Availability Statement, References, appendices as appropriate, tables with captions on individual pages, figures, and figure captions as a list. Manuscript must include no more than 6 keywords, 1 to 3 complete-sentence key messages in the manuscript text file and online submission form, a Disclosure of interest statement, and a statement disclosing whether and how generative AI was used or stating that it was not used.
References
References may be in any style or format if a consistent scholarly citation format is applied. References must include author name(s), journal or book title, article or chapter title, year of publication, volume and issue where appropriate, page numbers, and a corresponding in-text citation for each entry.
