Archiv der Pharmazie – Chemistry in Life Sciences is an international journal devoted to research in all fields of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry. Since 1822, it has focused on papers that combine biochemistry, organic chemistry, molecular modelling or analytical methods with pharmaceutical or medicinal aspects such as biological activity or metabolism.

Reviews

Cover Letter If the manuscript was previously submitted to ChemMedChem or a related Wiley chemistry journal, the previous manuscript number must be stated in the cover letter.
Abstract Abstract is mandatory for Reviews. Abstract must not exceed 200 words.
Manuscript Reviews may use section divisions chosen by the author, must include the term "Review" below the title, and otherwise follow the general manuscript organization. Manuscript must include up to 5 keywords, a graphical abstract with approximately 450–490 characters as the last page, and transparent disclosure of any AI tool use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References References must be numbered sequentially in order of citation, cited in square brackets, and listed numerically at the end under "References" with paper titles and Chemical Abstracts journal abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Figures, schemes, and tables with captions should be embedded in the manuscript immediately following their first mention in the text for reviewer readability. Tables and figures must be numbered in Arabic numerals in order of mention and cited in the text, and table captions and figure legends must be provided with the items.

Full Papers (Research Articles)

Cover Letter If the manuscript was previously submitted to ChemMedChem or a similar-scope Wiley chemistry family journal, the previous manuscript number must be stated in the cover letter.
Abstract Abstract is mandatory for Full Papers. Abstract must not exceed 200 words. Abstract must be unstructured and concisely present the scientific rationale, results, and conclusions.
Manuscript Full Papers must include an Experimental section written in sufficient detail to enable readers to follow and reproduce the experiments. Manuscript must include up to 5 keywords, a graphical abstract with short text and graphic as the last page, and transparent disclosure of any AI-generated content use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References References must be numbered sequentially in order of citation, cited in square brackets, and listed in numerical order under a "References" heading with paper titles and Chemical Abstracts journal abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Figures, schemes, and tables with their captions should be embedded in the text immediately following their first mention for reviewer readability. Tables and figures must be numbered in Arabic numerals in order of mention and cited in the text, with self-explanatory legends or captions.

Short Communications (Letters)

Abstract A summary is required for Short Communications (Letters). The summary must not exceed 200 words.
Manuscript Short Communications (Letters) must not exceed 4 pages including tables, figures, and references. Short Communications (Letters) must follow the same manuscript organization as the standard manuscript preparation requirements, include the term "Short Communication" below the title, and include experimental details. The manuscript must include up to 5 keywords, a graphical abstract as the last page, transparent disclosure of any AI-generated content use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section, and a separate conflict-of-interest paragraph following the acknowledgments if there are no conflicts.
References References must be numbered sequentially in order of citation, cited in square brackets in the text, and listed in numerical order under the heading "References" with paper titles included and journal titles abbreviated according to Chemical Abstracts practice.
Figures & Tables Figures, schemes, and tables with captions should be embedded in the manuscript immediately following their first mention in the text for reviewer readability.
