Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 7,500 words including references. Manuscript must include a 'What are the Clinical Implications?' section of no more than 200 words, and a Graphic Abstract is required at revision as a single-panel JPG image no larger than 15 cm by 15 cm placed after the written abstract if included in the manuscript PDF.
References References cited in any Supplemental Materials must also be included in the main reference list, and Supplemental Materials must not contain a separate reference list.
Figures & Tables Manuscript is limited to 6 figures and tables in total. Tables and figures may be embedded within the manuscript or submitted as separate files. Figure legends must be included with the manuscript text file, tables must be provided as editable text rather than images, and the Graphic Abstract must be a single-panel image without data items.
