Original Articles
Cover Letter
An electronic cover letter is required. Cover letter must identify the manuscript type, confirm that each named author meets the journal's authorship criteria, provide the corresponding author's address, telephone number, and e-mail address, and confirm the manuscript is not submitted or under consideration elsewhere.
Abstract
An abstract is required on the second page. Abstract must be fewer than 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must be divided into Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion, and for studies including human subjects it must state the number of subjects included in the primary analysis.
Manuscript
Manuscript must not exceed 4,200 words from introduction through discussion, excluding references, tables, and figure legends. Manuscript must begin the introduction on the fourth page and be organized as Materials and Methods or Patients and Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables, and Figure Legends. Manuscript must include a Significance and Innovations section on the third page with 2-4 bullet points, and any use of an LLM other than for spelling, grammar, or general editing must be documented in the Methods or Acknowledgement sections.
References
References may not exceed 50. References must be compiled numerically in order of citation, cited in the text as superscript numbers in numerical order, and journal article references must list the first 3 authors followed by "et al" if there are more than 3 authors.
Figures & Tables
Original Articles may include no more than 6 tables and figures combined. Figures must be uploaded separately, and tables may be included in the manuscript or uploaded separately as editable files. Each figure must contain no more than 4 panels.

Manuscript
