Autoimmunity Reviews publishes up-to-date, structured reviews on diverse topics in autoimmunity, written by experts in the field. Articles include illustrations, tables, and a take-home message, and cover basic and clinical autoimmunology, including pathophysiology, mechanisms, genomics, proteomics, diseases, novel therapies, and clinical associations. Articles are principally invited by the Editors-in-Chief upon recommendations of the international Editorial Board.

Autoimmunity Reviews is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. Review Articles must include a list of take-home messages or bullet points of 1–2 sentences, and article highlights consisting of 3 to 5 bullet points of up to 85 characters each must be submitted as a separate editable file.
References References must be cited by number in square brackets. References must be numbered in the order of first appearance in the text, and for works with more than 6 authors only the first 6 should be listed followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Tables must be submitted as editable text and figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. All tables and figures must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively in order of appearance, and include captions.

Manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords, article highlights as a separate editable file with 3 to 5 bullet points of no more than 85 characters each, and an AI-use declaration section before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References References must be cited by number in square brackets and listed numerically in order of appearance. For references with more than 6 authors, list the first 6 followed by 'et al.' and abbreviate journal names according to LTWA.
Figures & Tables Figures must be uploaded as separate files, while tables must be submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively, and provided with captions.
