Basic Research In Cardiology

Basic Research in Cardiology is an international journal dedicated to cardiovascular research. It provides a forum for original and review articles related to experimental cardiology that meet stringent scientific standards and covers all aspects related to the physiology and pathology of the structure and function of the heart and the cardiovascular system, including their regulation by neuronal and humoral mechanisms. It regularly receives articles from Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Pharmacology, Physiology and Pathology, and Clinical Cardiology, and is the official journal of the German Cardiac Society (DGK).

Primary Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required and must be 150 to 250 words. Abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a section entitled "Declarations" before the reference list with required statements including a disclosure statement, and documentation of any large language model use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section.
References References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets and listed alphabetically by first-author surname, numbered consecutively, with all authors named, full page ranges, journal title abbreviations, and a DOI for each entry.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, with large figures uploaded separately only if file size causes upload problems. Tables and figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals, cited in consecutive numerical order, and accompanied by captions, with figure captions included in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure files.
